Yirramboi Festival

2 May, 2019, 8:00 am - 12 May, 2019, 5:00 pm

Yirramboi Festival is Melbourne’s premier biennial First Peoples festival celebrating the vibrant living cultures and diverse contemporary practices of First Nations creatives. The next festival is happening from Thursday 2 May to Sunday 12 May 2019.

Yirramboi means tomorrow in the shared languages of the Boon Wurrung and Woi Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nations Melbourne, Australia.

Yirramboi is guided by key principles of First Nations Leadership, New Work, and Visibility and Dialogue, overseen by the Elder’s Council of Kulin Leaders. Yirramboi shifts paradigms and perceptions in how we engage with, talk about, and present First Peoples arts and culture.

The full 2019 program will be launched in March 2019. The festival is presented by City of Melbourne in partnership with First Peoples and Creative Victoria.
