THE MACHINE

Jaz Hosken and Chloe McShane

Gym. Protein. Gains. Emotions? Never heard of them! Can Maddy make vulnerability her strength?

Maddy is your friendly neighbourhood gym bro. Always on the go, obsessed with achieving her goals, and struggles with emotional vulnerability. Her best friend Pip, on the other hand, wears her heart on her sleeve and always sees the best in people, sometimes a little too much. When Maddy is forced to confront the feelings she’s been pushing down, she relies on the support of Pip, and together, Maddy learns to embrace her vulnerability, and Pip finds her own strength.
This dynamic two-woman show confronts the idea of what it means to be a strong woman. Through snappy dialogue and bold physicality, THE MACHINE playfully invites the audience to reflect on what strength and vulnerability means to you, because whatever happened to good old human connection?
