Spoonbill – Canopy – Album Launch

8 June, 2019, 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm

The new album ‘Canopy’ from Melbourne-based maestro, Spoonbill, will launch with a bang at the iconic Meat Market venue in North Melbourne on 08 June alongside a host of talented performers, artworks, illuminated sculptures and the infamous UKI robotic art-car.

‘Canopy’ is the fifth studio album from the internationally acclaimed musician, who has toured the globe in a career spanning over 15 years.

His new work takes listeners on a captivating journey through cinematic textures, warped sound design and lush grooves in a refined collection of compositions with the signature Spoonbill wonkadelic glitch-funk.

The all-local lineup for the event salutes Melbourne’s reputation as a pioneering force in the global electronic music community, featuring both Spoonbill Ensemble downtempo and uptempo sets as well as a live set from Monkey Marc and more local legends to be announced soon.

This special show also celebrates the collaborative relationship between sonic and visual art, showcasing installation sculpture and illuminated artworks by Pelican Studio, live VJ performances and the original UKI stage that has enthralled international audiences at events like Burning Man.

A mini festival vibe is anticipated at the event, which runs from 5-11pm, as the Meat Market is invaded by food vans, market stalls and a bar with boutique brews on offer.

A limited number of early bird tickets are available for $40 until 17 April, unless sold out prior, when prices will rise to $50 and are only sold at www.spoonbill.net.au. Booking fees apply.
