Réquiem
Lucy Eidelson
I twist my umbilical cord. It hums
My birth, my fatherʼs death, his birth, my death
These take place in the same ‘thin place’
Through the prism of our bodies i remember a window, a bowl of milk, the shape on an elbow, a life
The veil between living and dead illuminated, this ‘thin place’ made visible to the naked eye.
Blending dance, physical theatre, live vocals and original composition, Réquiem journeys into the ‘Thin Place’ – a liminal space where birth and death co-exist. The body becomes a vessel for ancestral memory and emotional metamorphosis, rendering personal grief into a surreal and strikingly beautiful ritual.
