A three act show about the best worst band of all time, The Shaggs.
New Hampshire, USA. 1940s.
A boy receives a palm reading from a psychic. The prophecy predicts his life’s fate:
1) He will marry a woman with strawberry-blonde hair.
2) He will have two sons.
3) His daughters will form a world-famous rock band.
When the first two come true, he makes the third a reality. In Bed With My Brother twists Rock ‘n’ Roll history into a sticky, sweaty, searing rebellion.
PHILOSOPHY OF THE WORLD is about The Shaggs: the quintessential outsider band. It’s the show Edinburgh couldn’t shut up about. It’s about the best worst album ever made. It’s about who holds the power to define you. Who gets to say whether you’re a legend? Or a loser? Who owns the right (and the rights) to tell your story?
And it’s about dads.

IN BED WITH MY BROTHER are Nora Alexander, Dora Lynn and Kat Cory. Three best mates collaborating across theatre, performance, art, cabaret, music and nightlife.
IN BED WITH MY BROTHER’s first proper show, WE ARE IAN won the Pleasance’s Charlie Hartill Fund for Theatre in 2016. The show sold out two Edinburgh Fringe runs, was nominated for a Total Theatre Award for an Emerging Company and went on to tour the UK, Australia, Prague and Hong Kong.
TRICKY SECOND ALBUM, both an album and a performance, inspired by The KLF’s stunt of burning a million pounds, was created with music producers and long-term collaborators Brain Rays and Parish News. A cult hit, it premiered and self-destructed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019. The show won a Total Theatre Award for Innovation, Experimentation and Playing with Form and prompted Dominic Cavendish, theatre critic at The Telegraph to set fire to a copy of his own newspaper.
In 2021, IN BED WITH MY BROTHER won the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award with their show PRIME_TIME, a murder fantasy about killing Jeff Bezos with weapons bought from Amazon.com. It premiered at the Barbican in Autumn 2021. Time Out called it “punk as f**k”. The Spectator called it a “puerile rant”.
IN BED WITH MY BROTHER is a part of arty party collective DOOMSCROLL, alongside artists Brain Rays and Quiet, Glysk and Rhys Slade-Jones. Creating silly, high-concept, high-bpm raves, they’ve performed across the UK including Latitude, Wilderness, Bangface, Experimentica at Chapter Arts Centre, Lost Horizon, Five Miles and were the Yard Theatre’s Nightlife Residents in 2023.
In 2025, IN BED WITH MY BROTHER returned to the Edinburgh Fringe with PHILOSOPHY OF THE WORLD, playing to sold-out audiences and critical acclaim. The show won a Fringe First Award, Fest and Skinny Magazine’s Bestie Award and the company was chosen as part of The Stage Fringe Five.
