If you love intimate, story‑driven theatre written and performed by talented local artists, this season is for you. Your ticket gives you access to two original productions created by Melbourne Writers’ Theatre, presented in an up close setting that brings every story to life.

7.00pm – METROPOLIS MONOLOGUES

Begin your night with Metropolis Monologues, a dynamic collection of 10 minute plays written by MWT playwrights. Directed by Karyn Lee Greig, these sharp, entertaining monologues are performed by an accomplished ensemble: Emerson Hansford, Stephen Najera, Natasha Broadstock, Sarah Hamilton, Asher Griffith-Jones, Anthony Pontonio, Monique Kerr, Charmaine Gorman, Clare Larman and Donna de Palma.

This season features two showcase programs:

Showcase 1 (26–28 March): Works by Jennifer Beasley, James Hassett, Kat Adams, Christine Croyden and Alison Knight
Showcase 2 (29 March – 1 April): Works by Leisa Whyte, Jeannie Haughton, Louise Hopewell, Maree Collie and Bruce Shearer

Monologues offer a powerful window into another world, another moment, another life. Whether you attend Showcase 1 or Showcase 2, Metropolis Monologues promises an engaging and memorable theatrical experience.

Intermission – MWT Bar

After Metropolis Monologues, enjoy a relaxed intermission. Grab a drink, chat with fellow theatre goers, and prepare for the second act of the evening.

8.30pm – WHO I’M DOING THIS FOR (World Premiere)

Return to your seat for the premiere of Who I’m Doing This For, a riveting new drama by Peter Farrar, directed by Steven T. Boltz and featuring Lochie Laffin-Vines, Emily Farrell and Tony Adams.

Winner of the 2026 Amethyst Award, this gripping play explores the complicated bond between a father and son and asks a profound question: What would we do to earn a parent’s love?
