EGO DEATH ELEKTRA
The Carnage Garden
EGO DEATH ELEKTRA is a new re-imagining of Sophocles’ Greek Tragedy Electra. The Dramedy was written and created by performers Nicklaus J.Carr and Mimi Floreani.
EGO DEATH ELEKTRA has culminated to its Australian Premiere featuring the infamous mythological family picking up the pieces of their washed up Muso parents. On the second anniversary of her father’s death, battling amongst her neurotic sister, sanctimonious mother and a piney fan-boy who can’t get the hint, Electra discovers the truth of her family, beneath their Rock dynasty’s curse of addiction, grief, sacrifice, and revenge and has a choice to break the cycle and become the catalyst for a new legacy. This moment of reckoning sets the stage for an explosive exploration of a nuclear family with the glorious illusion of sex, drugs and rock-and-roll unravelling at the seams.
