Charles Daniel Pratt became an ANZAC Aviator in the Middle East in WWI. He participated in the Gallipoli campaign, in which he was wounded, documenting his participation photographically. This period of warfare initiated Aerial Surveillance, whose techniques Pratt brought to the successful Aerial documentation of Post-WWI Geelong.
This exhibition celebrates Pratt’s heroic ANZAC photographs, records of mutilated plane-crash residue, aerial photographs around Ismailia, Egypt and post-war Geelong and places then in relation to contemporary responses to Surveillance Capitalism.
