Vogueing culture takes centre stage in this fierce and fabulous adaptation of Euripides’ The Trojan Women, inspired by the seminal ballroom documentary Paris is Burning. Hecuba has dedicated her life to protecting her chosen family, which her daughters cling to for comfort and support. But when a mysterious plague begins to rip through their community, they are forced to engage with a society that doesn’t understand or even value their existence. And She Would Stand Like This is a modern observation of HIV/AIDS that reimagines the Greek characters as Queer bodies of colour fighting for survival.
