The pioneer of African comedy in Australia returns to Melbourne International Comedy Festival

Vincent Tshaka is an award winning Kenyan Born –Australian comic based in Melbourne. After the longest lockdown Victoria has had, he’s returning to Melbourne International Comedy Festival with the final chapter of his show Australianised.

Tshaka is the first Kenyan comedian to find success internationally, as well as one of the pioneers of African comedy on the Australian scene and explores current issues of immigration, integration and identity crisis. He delivers sharp observational humour light heartedly. After first bursting onto the Melbourne comedy scene 13 years ago, he has since has gone on to entertain audiences across Australia and Canada. In 2012 he was crowned winner of the St Kilda Laughs Festival

In Australianised Vincent tackles the often un-documented and humorous facts about being an immigrant in the era of globalisation. He presents the funny side of sport, camping, the struggles of having African parents and Australian-born kids, priviledge, ockerism and dating from a bicultural twilight zone.

Australianised is a show that focuses on the dilemma that all immigrants face; of never wanting to let go of the place you once called home and embracing the place you now call home.
