A heightened feminist fantasia exploring three generations of women as they wrestle with ‘gods’ beneath an arena. This piece is a wild, fun, and irreverent exploration of female myth-making and resilience.
Beneath an arena, Bag, Moll and Runt are rehearsing for something highly physical, dangerous even. Lessons will be learned, generational steel will clash, and this rehearsal may prove deadlier than what awaits them above. This play is a heightened exploration of the stories that unite and divide us as women and the gods we make and destroy along the way.
Having enjoyed glowing responses from its first staged reading in November 2019, Dirty Pennies Theatre is thrilled to be staging a fully-fledged production of Legends or (the god killers) featuring a seasoned cast of brilliant women and a diverse team of talented creatives.
Independent theatre company ‘Dirty Pennies Theatre Project’ presents the Australian premiere of Legends (or the god killers) written by Award Winning writer Amy May Nunn and directed by VCA Masters graduate Kathryn Yates. This will be the company’s third production returning to the Meat Market after a sold-out Australian premiere of ‘Pramkicker’ in 2018.
