CONSTRUCTION WORKS AT MEAT MARKET

Two construction projects, led by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria, are underway at Meat Market. This includes the creation of a flexible rehearsal hall and enclosed performance space in the Flat Floor Pavilion, and a new access ramp at the back of the building in the car park and courtyard area.

These projects will provide Meat Market tenants and hirers with:

  • the option of hiring a flexible, acoustically-treated space that can be enclosed for small-scale events or opened up for full event mode
  • a new accessible entrance via the courtyard

The ramp will also improve loading for events (i.e. for food and beverage delivery and bump in requirements).

Meat Market will remain open while these projects are underway. Creative Victoria, City of Melbourne and Meat Market teams are working closely together and with stakeholders to minimise disruption for tenants and hirers during the construction process.

HIRING ARRANGEMENTS DURING CONSTRUCTION

Meat Market remains available for hire during the works; however, the Flat Floor Pavilion will be unavailable until the completion of works in spring 2024.

The Cobblestone Pavilion, Stables, and meeting room spaces remain available for bookings throughout the construction period.
