From the creator of the original art grant funded video/performance THE VIDEO’S SUITCASE WALK, which performed this year at LOOP BAR, project space, (interview in Beat Magazine, March 2018) comes an immersive installation centred around the realms of the body, the machine mechanisms between the created and us, plus satirical humour, all wound up into a neat dish.

Features paintings that bleed, ventricle pumps that stream, and a video to knock the laughs out of you.

Martha Ackroyd Curtis is working with many mediums to bring together an exhibition that seeps into a direct theme, which is pure and visually dimensional.

Ackroyd Curtis has exhibited in Japan in 2008, and has had her work selected for prominent feminist exhibitions such as Backflip: feminism and humour in contemporary art, (VCA video lounge) curated by Laura Castagnini, featuring Australian and International artists. Most recently she was selected for Melbourne Central Art Loop, first installment in 2016, featuring over 30 Australian and International video artists, curated by Mars Gallery which received Australia wide media attention. She is a Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne ALUMNI and RMIT, ALUMNI.
